[LIST] Types of Android Virus

There has always been talk about security risks for mobile devices, due to its high altitude, especially for the Android platform. This time the McAfee published a study on trends in mobile security, where it is revealed that the Android system there are at least 11,000 types of malware (malicious code). According to the report, the security risks that were found in Android would have been created, 95% last year. It also notes that 75% of the infected security or Android risk applications were downloaded directly from the Google store.

For McAfee, in its investigation, the risk of downloading an application containing malicious code or at least at some point redirecting the user to a suspicious web page, is one to six. Due to the growing popularity of Android, cybercriminals use this platform to spread several types of Android viruses ; that range from Trojans and backdoors that SMS to spyware that and corrupted messages.

In MEXICO CITY, Android has become the most popular platform for mobile devices, covering 81% of the market. Consequently, cybercriminals have put their efforts to develop viruses, increasingly dangerous, for this operating system. In the report, conducted by ESET, strong virtual protection, it was observed that the number of malware families for Android had also grown, in addition to the detections throughout Latin America.

This trend is constantly reinforced every day, with different types of Android viruses trying to attack this operating system: SMS Trojans that silently make calls or send text messages to numbers, until backdoorsque they give Remote access to others, through spyware that can capture audio and video.

Recently, IBanking was detected, a malicious Android application capable of spying on mobile phone communications. In addition, a few days ago came a type of ransomware variant Virus Police, which directs the operating system of Google. And Android was not saved from heartbleed, one of the flaws in OpenSSL that had millions of users in suspense.

Typically, success in spreading any kind of computer threat is social engineering strategies that use cybercrime, so the most important recommendation is, once again, a call to common sense and be careful with applications that we look for and download from official stores.
